When thinking about how to present this site and its content, I have moved back and forth on what I feel might be most important to you. I have settled on letting this place be where you come for a shortcut to quality. What in the world does that mean? Let me give you an anecdote to help frame my focus.
I am blessed to have some close to lifelong friends. One of them, a close friend from college, to this day, we speak daily. (If I’m lucky, he will contribute here, too, eventually) In one of our recent conversations, he said one word on the phone and stood back. Coolers. He knew that I would launch into a line of questioning to help him narrow down possible alternatives. He then explained that he had lamented to his lovely bride that the coolers they had were barely doing the intended job. Then he told her that he was going to call me. Her very understandable response, Why? To be clear, though I have spent a life in sales, I have never been PAID to be a cooler salesman. His response crystallized why I wanted to put this together. He said, “because he has probably spent twenty-six hours researching all of them and likely has extensive field research.” Sigh. It’s who I am.
I am hard on my stuff. Nothing lasts like it’s supposed to. When it does, it is what I set as my standard and what I will evangelize to my friends, peers, and, quite honestly, anyone who would listen. If it will stand up to what I ask it for, then there is a good shot you will also have success. I am not going to give you many scientific examples or many ones that are likely data-driven. What I will make sure lives here are honest reviews about what we choose to put into our daily lives; how we choose to be currently kitted.
And now…the goods.
